Steve Karp has more than 15 years of payments industry, management consulting, and investment banking experience. He is currently a Senior Vice President in the Enterprise Payments Strategy Group at SunTrust Bank, where he partners with executive leadership across various customer, product, and channel segments to develop and execute payment-related strategies. His areas of focus include prepaid cards, ATM channel management, and online banking/bill pay. Prior to joining SunTrust in January 2008, Steve was a Manager at Edgar, Dunn & Co., a global payments industry consulting firm. While at EDC, he worked with and developed strategies for leading companies in the credit card, bill payment, electronic funds transfer, and mobile banking industries.

Prior to EDC, Steve was Co-Founder and Executive Vice President of Allpoint, the largest surcharge-free ATM network in the United States. He led the network’s operations, financial reporting and budgeting, strategic planning, legal, and administrative functions. Steve also was part of the executive management team responsible for raising capital and guiding Allpoint from start-up through its successful sale in December 2005 to Cardtronics. Prior to Allpoint, Steve held a senior management position in the electronic banking practice of First Annapolis Consulting. While at First Annapolis, Steve worked extensively in developing detailed financial models and analytical frameworks to assist credit card issuers in evaluating alternative account acquisition and portfolio management strategies, as well as analyzing customer segmentation and profitability data. In addition, Steve has held investment banking and consulting positions at Friedman, Billings, Ramsey and ICF Consulting, respectively.
