Ed Maldonado Mr. Maldonado’s transactional practice includes business planning, business negotiations, new technology business planning, Foreign PTT Negotiations, International representation, corporate structuring, corporate acquisitions, administrative action defense and petitions before the federal and state agencies, Stored Value regulatory compliance and business planning, and Money Service Business planning and structuring. In 2004, Mr. Maldonado consulted and participated in the drafting and passage of the Illinois Phone Card Fraud Act, a law aimed at curbing consumer fraud by unstable and uncertified providers. Mr. Maldonado regularly advocates on issues concerning regulatory affairs of common carriers (TDM and VoIP) before the FCC and State Public Utility Commissions. Mr. Maldonado currently writes The Prepaid Press' Legal-Line, addressing legal issues related to the prepaid calling service industry; and is a frequent contributor to several trade magazines in the Telecommunications industry in both English and Spanish.
